Anna and I took the puppy out to the Tompkins Memorial Trail in the evening. The trail is a 4 mile loop that passes by a golf course and is half on a road, so there are some things going against it, but it's a nice hike on level ground close to my house, so I've walked it twice now.

The Tompkins Memorial Trail seems to be a favorite of trail runners - we passed two (with their dogs) while we were sauntering along. One of the runners was my landlord, which goes to show what a small place Truckee is.

As you can see from the track, the loop passes over a series of bridges (each named with a placard on the railing) - I think I got a waypoint for each one. They aren't very large (or probably even necessary) bridges, and I'm guessing by their names that they commemorate people who contributed funds to build and maintain the trail.

This is a cool little loop - good for an evening walk or run. The last time Anna and I walked it we saw a coyote off the in the distance, but there were none to be seen this time. There's nothing to be scared of, of course, unless you have an idiot dog like Tenuki who thinks coyotes are friends who should be played with. Thankfully, we have managed to keep her from running off so far, and this time she enjoyed the company of a dog on the trail for a while.
