Mount Conness is located on the north east border of Yosemite National Park at an elevation of 12,590'. There are at least two class 3 routes to the summit. The route I took is a 8+ mile round trip, off-trail, hike leaving from the Saddlebag Lake area and going past Alpine Lake. There is a use trail that goes about a mile or so past the Carnegie Institute building. If there is a use trail completely to the summit, I couldn't follow it. I took the best route up an endless field of bolders, up to the shores of Alpine Lake. From there, head around the northeastern shore and up more boulders until
