Beginning at the W edge of the lower parking area and begins with you walking parallel to the highway, downhill across the lower meadows area, crossing Ophir Creek through the center of the meadow (watch for birds, butterflies, etc.). As you enter the forest at the other end of the meadow, you leave the sounds of civilization behind and enter a forested world, tempted by the easy to follow trail leading you into pines & L at the fork (sign) for Ophir Creek trail - take as far as you'd like & return to pkg.
